Abstract

The article highlights the different approaches in contemporary educational literature regarding the definition of “independent work” as a specific type of teaching and learning activities. Existing independent work classification using the possibilities of information and communication technologies, especially focusing attention on Judy Harris classification, based on cognitive activity of the student and the types of independent work of students using the possibilities of information and communication technologies are considered. It is explained the concept of web-quest as specially organized type of research, when the students are searching for information in the net by addresses.
