Abstract

The article examines the role of student’s self-government in the process of forming and enhancing the digital competence of future special education teachers. The attention is focused on the relevance of using information and communication technologies in education: providing remote-corrective and advanced services to children with special educational needs and providing support for inclusive education. There are results of an online survey which confirm the future teachers’ special education interest in improving of their digital competence’s level. There’s an opinion which expresses the necessity of searching the new approaches to optimize the educational process by modern requirements for the higher education institutions and the effective methods of its formation and enhancement. It is justified the possibility of using it as one of the tools for forming and enhancing the digital competence for the future teacher of special education and the potential of student’s self-management. It presents the author’s vision of it as a significant place of the transversal character’s supporting in forming and enhancing the digital competence process of future special education teachers. It is noted that the creative cooperation of student self-government bodies and scientific and pedagogical workers of the higher education department which ensures the training of future teachers of special education, is considered important in this context. The forms of student’s self-government participation in the formation and enhancement of the digital competence of future special education teachers are received in their detailed description. It is proposed to create a space for non-formal education at the level of specialty 016 Special education – DigilHub with the possibility of holding free online events with the aim of forming and enhancing the digital competence of students in extracurricular activities. In the author’s collection «A handbook: a manual for the formation of the digital competence» it’s detailed the content of the events. It's developed a guide with digital tools for beginners «A guide for beginners: a confident user in the digital world».
